A special thanks to the students who have assisted with the fundraising efforts as well as those who volunteered to help with the running of our music department.
Here is a rundown of what we've been up to so far this semester. The music dept. is working on its pringles and chocolate fundraisers. This will again help to cover the exorbitant instrument repair costs we face each year and help our students get to Halifax in May for the Atlantic Music Festival. We hope to come home with several gold medals with our choirs, junior/intermediate band and Offbeat.
This last summer, graduating students of Offbeat performed in the Ottawa International Buskers' Festival. Thirteen students took home $560 each for 12 show in five days, raising a total of $7,700.00.
The organising of our music library has been an ongoing project and, finally, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is our hope that the project will be completed by the end of this year. Many thanks to all those who helped sort and organise our music library.
